Worthington F. Griswold (b. 1842, d. 1912) is pictured here in his office. He was the only son of George Harlow Griswold (b. 1795, d. 1876) and the great grandson of Ezra Griswold, one of the founders of Worthington. Worthington Franklin Griswold married Fondelia Ruth Griswold, daughter of Rev. Peter Stout Ruth in 1863. They had fourteen children. Worthington Griswold was a civil engineer and was prominent in public affairs in the community, serving as a member of the board of education, Justice of the Peace, and Mayor.
