This photograph, likely taken in early 2002 and shared on the City of Worthington's Facebook page on February 16, 2023, shows (then) in-progress construction of an addition to the Worthington Community Center. The 43,000 square-foot addition brought a new fitness center and indoor track, swimming and spa pools, and spaces for parties, games, and art, among other features. Construction began in early 2001 and, early on, was projected to be completed by summer 2002, but the project faced delays. The opening of new spaces was staggered as each became ready for use; the fitness center opened in mid-November 2002, the pools in early February 2003. A dedication ceremony for the addition was held on February 24, 2003.
