The building shown here, Worthington School, was built in 1874. It was located on the northeast quadrant of the village green, facing State Street (now Granville Road). Elementary and high school grades attended school in this building during its first two decades. In 1893 a new school was constructed directly to the east of the building to accommodate high school grades. This structure was then used for elementary grades from 1893 to 1916. It was razed in 1937 to make way for Kilbourne Middle School, which is located on the site at 50 East Granville Road.
