HUME Rodney W. Hume was born April 8, 1961 to Becky "Berwinkle" and Rodney W. Hume, Jr. near Baldwin, N.Y. and went to be with the Lord on May 8, 2011. Rodney was a resident at Franklin County DD Residence at Kimberly Woods. Preceded in death by parents and niece Danielle Petermann. Survived by his older sisters, Cathy (Jon) Chester of Gahanna, OH and Debra (Doug) Petermann of Worthington, OH; nieces, Lauren (David) Roepcke of Pickerington, OH, and Claire Petermann of Worthington, OH. Rodney was very special to our family. He was also a man with specific, special needs. Although he was never able to speak a word, the impact of his life speaks volumes to "our people", people affected by disabilities. Even though we are deeply saddened by his unexpected death, we are thrilled to know that Rodney was able to say for the first time, "Happy Mother's Day" to our mother on Mother's Day! A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 24 at The Vineyard Church of Columbus, 6000 Cooper Rd., Westerville, in The Chapel from 5-7 p.m. The poem "The Dash" by Linda Ellis will be the theme for Rodney's memorial.
