Richard “Rich” Rice,61, of Lewis Center passed away unexpectedly on Saturday August 19, 2023. He was born in Columbus, on March 6,1962. Son of the late Robert H. Rice and Rosemary Rice. Graduate of Olentangy High School, Class of 1981. He spent most of his life working for the family business Central Pump & Supply Inc. After the family business was sold Rich became an entrepreneur, working in irrigation, lawn and landscaping, and stump grinding. Rich never shied away from a hard day’s work, had an infectious laugh and was always willing to help others. Rich enjoyed eating out at various restaurants and being surrounded by family and friends. Preceded in death by his sister Rhonda Rice. Survived by brother Ronald “Ron” Rice: love of his life and mother of his only child Kathleen “Kathy” Loughry: Son Ryan A. Rice: Nephew Ronald “Ronnie” Rice: extended family Jennifer (James) Loughry (James, Jacob and Joella), Missy Loughry (Braden and Cassie), and Barbara (Matthew) Squires (Matthew “MJ” and Charles “Charlie”). As well as numerous friends. Services will be held Thursday, September 7, 2023 beginning 11am at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington, OH 43085. Interment to follow at 1pm Flint Cemetery, 8187 Flint Rd, Columbus, OH 43235.
