Bernice Marie Fryman White, 85, died on March 28, 2022. Preceded in death by her parents Virgil L. Fryman and Allie M. Fryman. She is survived by husband of 60 years, Chuck, Worthington; sons, Craig (Una) in Atlanta, Michael (Alla) Moscow Russia and Washington DC, Brian (Marybeth) in Louisville, Kentucky; granddaughters, Chloe and Camille, Atlanta; and brother, Dick (Ann Fryman; 2 nieces and a nephew. Bernice was born February 17, 1937 in Granville, Ohio where she lived until after graduating from Granville High School in 1955. After receiving her RN degree from Miami Valley Hospital School of Nursing in 1958, she continued her nursing education at Ohio State University where she received her BSc in Nursing in 1962. While in Columbus, she met the love of her life, Chuck White, to whom she married on May 12, 1962 and spent 60 fantastic years together as husband and wife. After living in Columbus during the first year of their marriage, they moved to the village of Rush Creek, the Frank Lloyd Wright inspired community in Worthington, Ohio in 1963 where they raised three wonderful sons, Craig, Michael, and Brian. After her children reached their pre-teens, Bernice went back to nursing. Over the years and she worked in many facets of nursing, including obstetrics, psychiatric nursing, and general hospital nursing. In 1980 she joined the staff of Columbus Public Schools as a school nurse where she worked for 30 years, over 25 of which were at Colerain School with neighborhood and medical or orthopedically fragile children. She loved working with these children and among her coworkers made many lifelong friends, some of whom have retained close contact to this day. Bernice's greatest joy was family and close friends. She and Chuck traveled extensively literally all over the world. She also appreciated and enjoyed the visual and performing arts. Bernice was beloved by all who met and were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed, as we have lost a great human being who loved helping others, laughter, fun, family, travel, and good friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions, in her name, should be made to the charity of your choice. A memorial celebration of her life will be held at 1:30PM Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the First Unitarian Universalist Church, 93 W. Weisheimer Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43214.
