Donna Venema, 92, of Dublin, passed away on February 6, 2020. She was born on September 28, 1927, in Waverly, Ohio, to the late James and Dorothy (Oyer) Voelker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, John A. Venema, and her brother, James "Bud" Voelker, Jr.
Donna will be greatly missed by her children, Cheryl (John) Burns, J. Christopher Venema and Susan (John) Birchfield; grandchildren, Jonathan, Alison, Krista, Karee, Jennifer, Tyler and Morgan; along with five, soon to be six, great grandchildren, Gillian, Augie, Zadie, Madeline, Kayla and Hannah. Countless friends whom she met over the years sadly say good-by as well. Donna was truly a people person. Just a few of the adjectives used to describe her are kind, optimistic, witty, positive, and compassionate. She lived by the Golden Rule, as well as two of her many sayings, "You draw more flies with honey than vinegar" and "If you can't say something nice about someone, say nothing." Donna was especially fond of her little dog, Magi, whom she rescued last year, making both their lives better. When not visiting with family and friends, she enjoyed gardening and reading. Prior to her retirement, Donna was a realtor for several years in both Ohio and Florida. A funeral celebrating Donna's life will be held at 1pm on Thursday, February 13, 2020, at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 North High Street. Interment will follow at Flint Cemetery.
