Thomas L. McCandlish, 59, of Worthington, Ohio passed away May 13, 2017 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Tom was preceded in death by his father Francis William "Bill" McCandlish and brother James "Mac" McCandlish. Survived by loving wife of 35 years Cindy McCandlish, nee Oplinger, son Michael McCandlish, daughter Emma (Nathan) Lindholm, mother Mary McCandlish, sister Judy (Bob) Trout, sister-in-law Becky McCandlish, grandchildren Hazel and Lincoln Lindholm, and numerous nieces and nephews. Tom was a Registered Architect for over 30 years and beloved long-time employee of Acock Associates Architects. Tom's legacies include his two children, two grandchildren, and numerous projects throughout Columbus, most notably the Ohio State University William Oxley Thompson Memorial Library (Main Library) renovation, completed in 2009. He loved music, tennis (which he learned and taught to young kids on the public courts of Zanesville), basketball, and watercolor painting. In addition to his family, Tom was loved and respected by his childhood friends from Zanesville, his OSU college friends, Colonial Hills neighbors, and coworkers. Family will receive friends Thursday May 18 from 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High St, Worthington, Ohio.
