Albert "Al" Mannarino, 94, of Westerville, passed away on April 15, 2021. Survived by his wife and partner in life of 71 years, Ruth; children, Rick, and Tom (Laura). Many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Albert was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Dardinger, and all of his brothers and sisters. Born in Erie PA, on March 28, 1927 to the late Frank and Catherine (Fionda) Mannarino, Al completed high school and joined the U.S. Navy where he served overseas during WWII. Upon returning home, he earned an Associate's Degree in Business, met and married Ruth Lucas.

A career in the tire business started with 25 years in various management positions with Firestone. There were positions with General Tire in Cincinnati and Columbus. Al retired after a 15 year tenure at District Tire (Sandusky, OH) in 1988. Al Earned the "Tire Man of Ohio" award from Shell Oil in 1988. He and his wife Ruth attended The Church of the Messiah in Westerville, Ohio. Memberships include Canterbury Men's group, The Woodworkers Association, and the Wood Turners Group. A renovator of old, wrecked, worn out cars, kids and grandkids were the beneficiary of many of these vehicles. However, Al's true passion/calling came as a builder and designer of furniture and cabinetry for his kid's homes. As a tireless builder, fixer, and self-taught home remodeling expert, countless hours were spent renovating and filling his family's homes with a lasting legacy of work and accomplishments.

In Al's later years, heavier cabinetry and furniture making turned into wooden bowl and pen turning. Many of these pieces are in use today and act as happy memories to family and friends. Al leaves behind a legacy of a strong willed, no-nonsense personality, devotion to the family, and being a hard-working, loving husband. He will be missed by family, friends, and neighbors. A private service will be held at a later date. Al greatly appreciated his opportunity to participate in the Honor Flight program. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, a donation in Albert's memory may be made to Honor Flight Columbus at the following link .
