Dale was an avid Kansas City Chiefs football fan, picking them as his favorite team, following in his big brother’s footsteps. He had a love of music, mostly heavy metal, specifically Black Sabbath and Ronnie James Dio, but he loved country, classic and really anything on the radio. He was a coach at St. Matthias school for 9 years, starting when Hannah was in kindergarten and continuing until her 8th grade year. The girls that he coached became like his own, and he always wanted them to know how proud he was of them. He coached basketball and softball and loved every minute. He loved being involved at St. Matthias, working Fish Frys, building shelves in the library, volunteering on the playground, chaperoning class trips and making time for anything that anyone ever needed. He loved playing slow pitch softball, playing with the same set of guys for 30 years. The after-game dinners were some of his favorite times. Dale never knew a stranger and his hugs were legendary. When he asked how you were doing, he truly wanted to know and would listen intently. Dale preferred any comedy to just about anything on tv, and his laugh was infectious. Family was everything to him, and once you became part of his family, that never changed. The brightest star in his heart belonged to his little girl, Hannah Banana aka Sugar Plumski, being known as her one and only Daddy Boy. Dale was a true giver, and never expected or wanted anything in return. He would fix your car, your lawnmower, build you anything with the greatest amount of perfection, and be the first one to show up and the last one to leave. Our hearts have a hole that can never be filled, but those of us that knew him are better for it. He will never be forgotten, and his love for all of us will live on. He was the GOAT, The Greatest of All Time.
