JACOBS Richard "Dick" Carlton Jacobs, age 67, of Columbus, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010 at his home. He was born on November 29, 1942 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Carlton and Helen Jacobs. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings Shirley Chaney and Don Jacobs. Dick was 1960 graduate of Thomas Worthington High School and retired from COTA after many years of service. Dick's passion in life was trains; he enjoyed HO scale model trains, learning about the rail systems, and was especially interested in the Pennsylvania Railroad; he even wrote articles for Railway and Rail Fan magazines. He was also a history buff; if you had a question about history, he knew the answer! Other pastimes that he enjoyed were the Cleveland Indians, working in his garage, and woodworking. Survivors include his loving wife of 35 years, Linda; children, Rodney Jacobs, Vicki Jacobs, Tami (William) Brauner, and David (Lois) Jacobs; eight grandchildren; and one great- grandchild. Friends may call Sunday, March 7, 2010 from 2-6 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP, 3030 West Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43204, where funeral service will be held Monday, March 8, 2010 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Jim Blankenship officiating.
