Josann "Annie" Duane, moved on from us on 19 September, 2016. She was a mother, sister, friend, educator, and scholar. Still together here are her children, Michael, Jennifer and Thomas; her siblings, Bill, Bob, also Janell and Eileen, her second mother. Her mother and father, Olga and Fairfax, preceded her in this journey. Annie received her doctorate in physics from The Ohio State University and retired from there as a tenured Professor of Engineering. During her years, she touched the lives of many, including family, friends and students, always with an unexpected and surprising interpretation to any problem. Upon being diagnosed with cancer 3 1/2 years ago, she applied her efforts to researching and implementing a nutritional protocol involving a strict vegan diet along with exercise that extended a high quality of life for her till the end of her time with us. She was able to document these findings in peer review publications and personal correspondences. While Annie will no longer be beside us here, her presence, words and actions will continue to guide and inspire us. Friends may call at SOUTHWICK-GOOD & FORTKAMP FUNERAL CHAPEL, 3100 N. High St. Friday, September 23, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Bob Watkins, officiating. Interment Flint Cemetery.
