Arthur Edward Baz, age 86, of Columbus, passed away peacefully at home on June 23rd, 2021. He was born to Edward and Freda (Rahal) Baz on April 16th, 1935. A devoted father and grandfather, Art valued family, tradition, and his Middle Eastern heritage above most else. He was also proud to be a military veteran, having served his country while stationed in Germany.
Some of his fondest memories were made during his family's years on Richards Road in Clintonville, Ohio, when his children were young and he and his wife Jane had many friends in the neighborhood. He worked hard in a variety of professions including the paper, oil and gas businesses and as a stockbroker.
Arthur and family moved to Steubenville, Ohio in 1987 where they were greeted by Jane's family and made many new friends. Art was active in Kiwanis, Masons, Shriners, and AHEPA at the Greek Orthodox church.
After Jane's passing, Arthur moved back to Columbus where he made new friends and reconnected with old ones. He kept busy by working, participating in his civic groups, and enjoyed playing euchre with many different card clubs. Always ready with a joke or amusing story, he will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew him.
Arthur is survived by his children Melissa and Douglas (Ruthie), and his grandchildren Elizabeth and Georgia, and preceded in death by his wife Jane (Haverfield) and his parents Freda and Edward.
