Special friends Brad Krause, Kate Ehrbar, and Jessica Conley. Preceded in death by parents Robert and Carolyn Baringhaus and father-in-law Gale Shrimplin.
Jeff married the love of his life Jennifer on June 26, 2004 in Pomeroy, Ohio. Together, with Brady and Evan, they built a family fondly named “Team Baringhaus” whose motto is “a day alive is better than a day not,” and they fit a lot into those days together.
Jeff’s goal in life was to be the best husband and father he could be, and that was evident in his passion and support of the boys in their various activities. He loved attending or listening to stories about school plays and choir concerts, but his true love was Brady and Evan excelling in their various sports - Brady playing football and lacrosse at Worthington Kilbourne and Evan playing football, basketball and baseball in the Worthington Youth leagues.
Jeff loved watching Notre Dame Football and the Cleveland Browns. He enjoyed running and cooking and playing golf with his buddies. Jennifer, Brady and Evan have many wonderful memories of vacationing as a family in the Outer Banks; climbing lighthouses, building sandcastles and finding the best tacos on the island. Jeff loved the adventure of a road trip with the family and found humor in everyday events like trying to find a restroom in the middle of nowhere or seeing just how far off the highway the gas station really is.
Jeff enjoyed participating in the neighborhood chili cook-offs and spending evenings with friends around the neighborhood. He would always lend a hand if someone needed help moving furniture or equipment around the block, and his full-size candy bars at Halloween and Christmas decorations made him a legend in the neighborhood.
Jeff did everything with a passion and gusto like no other - a trait that has been passed to Brady and Evan and that will continue to grow through stories and memories of Jeff.
Jennifer, Brady and Evan would like to thank Ohio Health Hospice for their loving care of Jeff in his final months. They would also like to thank Frances Shrimplin, Heather Van Syckle, Jessica Conley and Kate Ehrbar for their selfless support of Jeff and Jennifer, and helping care for Jeff when Jennifer was with the boys.
