Carolyn (Orders) Ball, of Westerville, age 90, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022. Born in Columbus on December 16, 1931, she was a life-long Central Ohioan who had resided in Westerville since 1963. She was the daughter of Allan and Elizabeth (Schrader) Orders. She leaves behind her loving family her husband of 68 years, Theodore Ball; and four children; daughter Miriam Hickman (husband David Hickman); son Allan Ball (wife Donna Bowshier Ball); son Steven Ball (wife Mary Frances Ball); and daughter Karen Koger (Chip Koger). She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Shannon Ball (husband Ben Ebenezer); Kevin Ball (wife Ally Ball); Kate Ball (husband Jack Stenger); Olivia Ball (Matt Iammarino); Andrea Ball (partner Rafael Garcia); and great grandchild Liam Allan Ebenezer; Survived by sister-in-law, Nada Ball. Preceded in death by brother Richard Orders (wife Grace Orders); brother-in-law, Homer Ralph Ball, and his wife Marianne Ball; brother-in-law Wetzel Ball; and sister in law Olga Yarrington (husband Bob Yarrington).. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Carolyn graduated from the Ohio State school of nursing in 1953. She married Ted Ball on September 20, 1953, a law school student whom she met at the Ohio State University. She left nursing after a year to devote her life to her family at the birth of her first child. She later served as Teds secretary for over 25 years in his law practice in downtown Columbus and later in Westerville, where they provided outstanding legal service to many life-long clients. Carolyn was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She was an expert seamstress and cook. Her baking set her apart, especially her pecan pie and life-changing apple crumb pie made with freshly-picked Jonathan apples, along with cherry pie using pie cherries picked from their cherry tree. Cookies like oatmeal scotchies and Christmas cookies decorated perfectly by family were also standouts. She was an avid Ohio State fan and loved to travel the country. Always providing a steady and positive influence, Carolyns faith was very important to her, and she was a member of Pleasant Hill Old Regular Primitive Baptist church in Urbana, Ohio. She can never be replaced and will be sorely missed by her husband and family. The family would like to thank her numerous caregivers, especially Beckie, Kimlin, Ashley, Kumba, Tiffani and numerous others. Family will receive friends between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm on Monday, January 24 at Moreland Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2 pm at Flint Road Cemetery.
