In the early afternoon of May 12, 2022, Thomas Worthington High School students gathered along 161 near the school carrying signs to protest the potential overturning of Roe v. Wade by the United States Supreme Court. This 19-second video shows students holding up signs and shouting in reaction to passing cars on 161, which honk to show their support. The students raise their fists and hold up posters and papers bearing pro-choice slogans such as "My Body My Choice."

Students stand on the lawn to the west of the entrance to the high school, on the north side of 161. Visible in the background is the sign for Worthington Pools.

On May 2, 2022, a leak of a draft majority opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito indicated that the Court had voted to strike down the landmark Roe v. Wade decision, which had guaranteed federal constitutional protections of abortion rights.
