Topics for discussion reflected societal issues of the time such as human relations, drug use, protest, and youth conflict. The Worthington Public Library established a Young Adult program in 1945, hiring Marguerite Carder as to fill the position. Worthington was first public library in Franklin County to hire a trained young adult librarian.
