Robert Samuel Harsh (1928-2007) was a veteran of World War II, serving as a Corporal in the Army of Occupation in Korea from 1946-1948. This autobiographical account describes his experiences beginning with basic training in Fort Knox, Kentucky, through his service in Korea as part of the 63rd Infantry Regiment. He vividly describes Army life and offers his observations on Korean society and culture. Harsh was a 1946 graduate of Worthington High School and worked for the U.S. Steel Corporation in Pittsburgh and New York City before retiring to Dublin in 1986.
