William Henry Jewett (b. 1831, d. 1915), civil war veteran is pictured in uniform ca. 1862. He was a graduate of the Cincinnati Eclectic Medical School, and practiced medicine in and around Perry Township. He enlisted in the Union army as a Sergeant on August 14, 1862 and was promoted to Full Lieutenant 2nd Class on March 26, 1863. He resigned his post on October 19, 1863. He married Lucy Ellen Snouffer (b. 183?, d. 1916) in 1854.
