Mr. Stanley Snouffer (b. 1877, d. 1970), pictured here circa 1968, was a carpenter by trade and patriarch of Worthington Snouffers. After marrying, Stanley moved off the Snouffer family farm in Perry Township and moved to Worthington. He and John H. Snouffer, an uncle, were the first Snouffers to move into Sharon Township. John H. (not pictured) died in 1933. He was the last surviving Civil War Veteran in Worthington.
Five sons of Stanley Snouffer--Elmer, Stephen, Leslie, Raymond, and Paul--operated several Worthington area businesses including Snouffer Motor Sales and Snouffer Brothers' Garage at 625-27 High St. (current site of La Chatelaine), Snouffer Furniture Store, Snouffer and Kessler Alleys and Snouffer Dry Cleaners.
