This photograph shows Worthington High School Cardinals varsity basketball players John Snouffer (player #21, with the basketball) and Julian Goode (to the left, facing away from the camera) in action during a game against St. Francis DeSales High School. Two of the DeSales players are also pictured. The game took place before a packed audience in the Taft Coliseum at the Ohio State Fairgrounds. The Cardinals beat Linden-McKinley in the Class AA tournament play before losing to DeSales, 51-52.

Under the coaching of Pat Mannion, the Cardinals achieved a 17-3 record for the season and captured the Ohio Capital Conference League title. Brad Forward led the team with a total of 284 points scored, and John Snouffer held a close second with a total of 260 points.
