Frank Welling (b. 1885, d. 1977) is pictured here wearing a baseball mitt with Worthington High School baseball players in the background. He was active in Worthington area football and baseball, coaching and serving as president of Little League Baseball in Worthington before it was taken over by the Cardinal Boosters. Mr. Welling and former Worthington High School coach Dow Nelson laid out the first baseball diamond at Worthington High School. Welling Field at Worthington High School was named in his honor in 1975.
