The Lawson House is located at the corner of Park Road and Worthington-Galena Road. According to the Intelligencer (1993), residents in the area reported that it was once a tollgate station on the Worthington to Westerville Free Pike. An 1872 map of Sharon Township shows a tollgate station was located on the site.
Ralph and Iantha Lawson, an African American couple, purchased this home and the surrounding acres in the 1930s. They farmed the land for many years. They later platted the area for residential homesites and constructed a road called Lawson Drive. The Lawson home still exists. Other homes have been built on Lawson Drive.
