The homes located at 8058 and 8069 Flint Road were built by brothers Alfred and John Potter, respectively. The brothers came from England with their mother, brothers and sisters. John Potter was married to Harriet Gardner, a daughter of Ozem Gardner. Both homes were built between 1855 and 1860. Another brother, Caleb, who lived in Worthington, was the grandfather of Howard Potter, born in 1885. Howard Potter owned the Potter Lumber company, and was active in community affairs in Worthington for many years. He attended Worthington High School and graduated in 1902, marrying a classmate, Minnie Collins. his leadership in civic affairs procured the water supply and sewage systems for Worthington, paving of the dirt roads, electric street lamps, and the first Boy Scout troop. He died in 1974.
The homes are currently owned by the Cover family and the Layman family respectively.
