Eugene Moses Maynard (b. 1854) is pictured here. He was the oldest son of Devoss W. Maynard (b. 1833) and Clarrissa E. Maynard (b. 1833). He was grandson of Moses Maynard Jr. (b. 1792, d. 1862), and great grandson of Moses Maynard Sr. (b. 1755, d. 1834), early settlers of Worthington. Devoss Maynard migrated west to Kansas with his family, but Eugene returned to Ohio for a time working as a photographer. He married Olive Mae Marshal in 1874 and eventually settled in Kansas to raise their family.
