Senator Harding gave a talk at the Columbus Rural Rest Home in Worthington at a picnic of the Columbus Kiwanis Club and the Worthington Chamber of Commerce. It was his first public address as the Republican Candidate for United States President. He became the twenty-ninth President of the United States. His brother, George T. Harding II, founded Harding Hospital. Six generations of medical doctors in the Harding family made significant contributions to the understanding and treatment of mental illness.
