Abstract | This is the program for the Worthington High School production of "Inherit the Wind" by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee. The play was presented on November 16 and 17, 1979. The cover shows an ink drawing of the silhouettes of two buildings with the silhouette and shadow of a person and an object between the builldings. Above the drawing is the title "Inherit the Wind" and below the drawing is the quotation '"He that troubleth his own house Shall inherit the wind." Proverbs 11:29.' "1979-1980" is written in the top right corner. Pages two and three list characters and production staff; page four lists the scenes of the play; page five lists technical crews; page six lists personal patrons; page seven includes a note from the authors of the play and an advertisement for a local business; and page eight contains another advertisement. The production was directed by Bronwynn Hopton, who taught drama at Worthington High School/Thomas Worthington High School from 1973-2013. In 1988, she founded the Worthington High School Theatre Repertory. Countless alumni cite her influence for their love of theater, or even their professional success in the field. An October 24, 2010 "Columbus Dispatch" article quotes her as saying, "Theater is not just a superfluous after-school event, but something we study that deserves the same focus as science, math or history. " Her first name graces the Bronwynn Theatre at the McConnell Arts Center. |
