WOODS Jack L. Woods, of Worthington, Ohio, died April 1, 2012. Born Christmas Eve, 1924, he was the founder of Jack L. Woods Plumbing. Jack was a loving and devoted husband and father, a loyal and compassionate friend, a fair and scrupulously honest businessman, a wordmeister, and a witty and charismatic personality. He is preceded in death by his son Jack D. Woods and survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Maryellen; daughters, Eileen (Richard Stuhr) Woods, and Diane Woods; granddaughter, Kelly Woods of California. Jack graduated from Central High School and attended Otterbein College, where he excelled as an outstanding athlete, particularly in baseball. He coached the first baseball traveling team in Worthington, was an active Cardinal Booster, and in his later years was a member of York Country Club where he gained the reputation of "hitting the ball a mile". Though he suffered a debilitating stroke in 2002, his lifelong love and partner, wife Maryellen, never left his side and enabled him to maintain his sunny disposition and indefatigable love of life against all odds.
