Walter F. Fluellen, age 71, of Worthington, died Tuesday, April 2, 1996 at the Rosegate Care Center. Retired Industrial Electrician for DCSC and a WWII veteran serving in the Merchant Marine. Preceded in death by his parents Catherine and Jefferson and brother Robert Fluellen. Survived by his wife, Chester I. Fluellen of the residence; children, Walter F. Fluellen Jr. of Columbus, Kathryn (David) Slaughter of Worthington, Patricia Fluellen of Columbus, Rev. Michael (Laurie) Fluellen of Albuquerque, NM, Jeffrey (Janice) Fluellen of Columbus; special daughter-in-law, Kirsten Fluellen of Columbus; grandchildren, Walter F.. III, Keith R. and Jason Fluellen, all of Columbus, Ramona Hawkins of Glendale, CA, Ayana and Asijah Slaughter, both of Worthington, Megan, Morgan and Nicole Fluellen and Larry Francisa, all of Albuquerque, NM, Michael and Marcus Fluellen of Cleveland, OH, Tony, Cirrea, Faith and Malachi Fluellen, all of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Korina Norman of Glendale, CA, Jasmine Humphreys of Worthington; brother, LeRoy Flewellyn of Detroit, MI; sister, Charlotte Lennon of Cleveland, OH, and a host of other relatives and friends. Past member of Master Lodge #62 F&AM and a member of St. John AME Church and the Columbus Christian Center. Funeral service 1 p.m. Friday, April 5, 1996 at the Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home, 515 High St., Worthington with Pastor David C. Forbes, Pastor Hurdie Billingslea and Pastor Herman Perkins officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. The family will welcome friends 1 hour prior to the service on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Life Care Alliance in memory of Mr. Fluellen.
