Mary Elizabeth Scatterday, 89, longtime resident of Worthington and recently of Friendship Village of Dublin, where she died on Wednesday, September 9, 1998. Preceded in death by husband leonidas Collins Scatterday, D.O. Survived by daughters, Carolyn May Bennett and Marylon and Douglas Alexander II; grandsons, Douglas Gillespie (Marsha) Alexander, Andrew Liewellyn (Rachel) Alexander, Thomas Ira Bennett and Lloyd Gerald Bennett; sisters-in-law Susan Jane Scatterday, Elizabeth Ellen McGurer and Naomi W. Scatterday; nieces, Jane A. Papin and Carol S. Grotheer; nephew, James A. Scatterday. Longtime member of Worthington United Methodist Church. Honorary life member of the Auxiliary to the Ohio Osteopathic Association. Life member of Worthington Historical Society and life member of Dublin Historical Society. Seventy year member of Worthington Chapter #287 O.E.S. Graduate of Worthington High School in 1925 and The Ohio State University in 1929. Funeral service 1 p.m. Monday, September 14, 1998 at Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home 515 High St., Worthington, with Rev. Fred M. Ketner officiating. Interment Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-5 p.m. Sunday with an Eastern Star Service at 4:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity or church of one's choice.
