Karolin Stella H. Karolin, age 91, of Worthington, died on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at Village of Westerville Retirement Community surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Estonia, Stella immigrated to Germany to escape the terror of the Soviet invasion. She and her family then immigrated to the United States settling in Schenectady, NY. In 1962 the Karolin family moved to Columbus, OH where Stella completed her medical residency. Member of the Estonia Lutheran Church and the Estonia Association both here and in Schenectady. Former Staff Psychiatrist and Medical Director at COPH. Formerly employed by NetCare and Maryhaven and most recently retired from private practice. Stella was a consummate hostess to visitors from Estonia and the local Estonian community. Preceded in death by husband Arno Karolin. Survived by loving children, Jaak (Joyce) Karolin of Boulder, CO, Mari-Ann (Michael) Costanzo of Evanston, IL and Andres (Deb) Karolin of New Albany; granddaughters, Alisa, Alexis and Carissa. Funeral Service 7 p.m. Monday, September 23, 2013 at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington, OH, where the family will be receiving visitors from 6 p.m. until time of service. Private family interment. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in Stella's memory.
