Mrs. Emma E. "Betty" Gilbert, age 78, a resident of Garden Manor Extended Care Center, died at her residence Friday, May 20, 1994, at 7:30 a.m. She was born in Johnstown, Ohio, the daughter of Walter H. and Eva Lea (Butt) Richards. She married Robert M. Gilbert on June 9, 1934 in Worthington, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on September 15, 1984. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary before his death. She was a member of the St. John's Episcopal Church in Worthington, Ohio. She is survived by dear, caring friends, Burl and Jeannine Hays and family of Hamilton. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Walnut Grove Cemetery, Worthington, Ohio with Father Keith A. Gentry officiating. Friends may call Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 980 N.W. Washington Blvd. Memorials may be given to the charity of one's choice, in her memory.
