MORRIS Dorothy Jane Morris, 81, of Riverlea, Monday, November 12, 2001, after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. She spent her final years as a resident of the Willow Brook Christian Home in Worthington. Born March 20, 1920 in Kansas City, Kan., the oldest of 7 children, she was originally a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Independence, Mo. and later of the Worthington Presbyterian Church. A cum laude graduate of both The Ohio State University and The Ohio State University Graduate School. Mrs. Morris was retired from the Columbus Public School System, where she practiced for many years as a child speech and hearing therapist. In addition to her dedication to her husband, her family, and her profession, she worked throughout her life for the rights and welfare of stray and distressed animals, and had many faithful pets. She is survived by her beloved husband, Sam, to whom she was married in 1941; and by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Morris and Kent Shimeall; her grandsons, Wyatt and Courter; her son, Steven; sister, Joan; brothers, James and Warren; and many friends throughout the United States. After a private burial service at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Worthington, the family will host a memorial service Friday at 2 p.m. in the Worthington Presbyterian Church at High St. and Route 161, Worthington. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her name may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society, 3015 Scioto-Darby Executive Court, Hilliard, Oh. 43026.
