BLACKMORE Josiah H. Blackmore, II, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2007. A Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He served as the Dean of the Capital University Law School, after which he was named the University's 12th President. There, the Library was named in his honor. He retired in 1998 to a farm in Blacklick to raise alpacas and keep bees. A 1956 graduate of Miami University with a BA in Government and a Juris Doctor cum laude from The Ohio State University College of Law in 1962. During his career he earned many awards and honors, including an appointment from Gov. Taft to the Ohio Ethics Commission and the Presidential Award for Lifetime Service by the Columbus Bar Association. He was the author of many articles on ethics, academic and legal issues. He is a long time member of Worthington Presbyterian Church, where he was an Elder and Deacon. Survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Joyce; children, Josiah, III, Anne (Mike), Judith (Mark); grandchildren, Alex, Emma, Josiah and Grace; aunt, Isabel Cauffman; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Friday at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna. Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Worthington Presbyterian Church, 773 High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085. (NOTE: Parking will only be available at the Thomas Worthington High School. Shuttle service provided.) Private family interment to follow service.
