This is the program for the Worthington High School production of "The Mouse That Roared." The play was presented on November 17 and 18, 1978, in the Kilbourne Auditorium at the high school.
The cover shows an ink drawing of a mouse wearing a crown and robe and holding a bow and arrow, with the words "The Mouse That Roared November 17th & 18th, 1978 Presented by: Worthington High School Thespians." "1978-1979" is written in the top right corner. Page two contains a dedication from the Worthington High School Thespians to the character Mickey Mouse and lists special thanks. Page three lists the production staff; pages four and five list characters, trumpeters, and scenes; page six lists technical crews; page seven lists members of the crowd, peasant ushers, personal patrons, and business patrons; and page eight contains advertisements.
The production was directed by Bronwynn Hopton, who taught drama at Worthington High School/Thomas Worthington High School from 1973-2013. In 1988, she founded the Worthington High School Theatre Repertory. Countless alumni cite her influence for their love of theater, or even their professional success in the field. An October 24, 2010 "Columbus Dispatch" article quotes her as saying, "Theater is not just a superfluous after-school event, but something we study that deserves the same focus as science, math or history. " Her first name graces the Bronwynn Theatre at the McConnell Arts Center.
