John E. Buch, 79, of Pottsville, passed away Monday morning at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville. Born in Worthington, OH, October 17, 1937, he was a son of the late John W. and Mildred Lawless Buch. He was a 1955 graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School and was a member of United Presbyterian Church, Pottsville, where he was an active member of the church choir and also taught Sunday school in years past. John proudly served his country in the Army. Through the years, he was self-employed and worked as a handyman.
John's creativity in both mind and spirit always added to one's enjoyment of time shared with him. His soft spoken voice and amazing smile would beckon you to stop and pause awhile, as he would share engaging words of faith, art, music and much more. John is survived by cousin, LaDonna Wagstaff; second cousins, Marilyn Lawless, Thomas Lawless, Michael Lawless, Rick Lawless, Susan Lawless, Jeff Lawless, Jim Wagstaff and Linda Lombardo; friend and caregiver, Ellen Hildreth, Pottsville. A memorial service will be held at noon Nov. 4 at United Presbyterian Church, 214 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, with Pastor Sue Marie Baskette officiating. Lord-Bixler Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
