Mark D. Chapman, 85, died Sunday Jan. 10, 2016. He was born Sep 1, 1930, in Columbus, to the late Floyd and Esther Chapman. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Constance Chapman. Mark is survived by his brother Ted Chapman, son Steve Chapman, daughter-in-law Jill Chapman, grandchildren, Angela Yurkovich (son-in-law Dave Yurkovich), Cindy Wojcik (son-in-law Steve Wojcik), great-grandchildren Leann Sherwood, Allison Sherwood, Claire Sherwood, Holly Yurkovich, Abigail Yurkovich, Marissa Wojcik, Mark Wojcik, and Amber Wojcik. Also survived by step-daughter Maire Zezzo-Algoe and step-grandson Jordan Zezzo. Mark graduated from South High School and attended 2 years at The Ohio State University. He worked primarily in the plumbing and mechanical engineering fields working at Floyd R. Chapman Plumbing, W.E. Monks, Rietzke Engineering, Drake and Ford Engineering, H.A. Williams Mechanical, Limback, business owner and AEP. He married Connie Bennett in 1950 and enjoyed youth work at the Bible Presbyterian Church on Indianola Ave., summer Church Camp in Versailles, Indiana for 20 years, and youth work at Christian Missionary Alliance in Westerville, Ohio, for many more years. He also volunteered in the Boy Scouts, (into his 70's) at various positions including Scoutmaster for troop 30 and troop 650. He was also part of the Bikin' Buddies family bicycle club, which took many bike trips through the Eastern United States. He enjoyed roller skating with his son, grandchildren and watching his great-grandchildren skate. A memorial service will be conducted in his honor at 2 p.m. January, 30th, 2016, at Hope Church (Christian Missionary Alliance), 75 E. Schrock Road, Westerville. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mark's memory may be made to Hope Church.
