Greeting Card showing Norma's Restaurant

These photos show the front and back of a greeting card with a painting of Norma's Restaurant at 666 High Street. The building was built in 1962, and was designed by Lawrence and Snouffer, Architects.

Norma’s Restaurant was originally opened in 1957 at 672 High Street by Norma C. Van Tassel (then Norma Parton, ?-1987) and her daughter Betty J. Atkinson (b. 1924, d. 2012). The restaurant moved to 666 High Street in 1962. This was the third location for the restaurant. Norma’s Restaurant was especially well-known for its homemade pies and soups. The restaurant was later sold to Paul Panzara, who renamed it Paul’s Pantry, and then to Gordon Clark, who operated the restaurant under the name Village Cupboard Restaurant.

The artist, Janet Balliett Waggoner, is a native Ohioan, whose main medium is watercolor. A freelance artist, Janet has been commissioned to paint historical buildings and businesses, including a number in the Worthington area. Her paintings of the Ohio Bicentennial Barns appeared on 19 phonebook covers across the state. Her painting of the Ohio State Capital was featured on the 2003 holiday card for the Governor's staff. Janet has been President of the Worthington Area Art League and served on the board of that organization.
