This book, authored and illustrated by James Wallace "Jim" Baker was published in conjunction with the United States Bicentennial in 1976 by the Worthington Historical Society. It provides a brief look at the story of Worthington, and was incorporated into third grade studies of local history for several years following its publication. The book includes a fold-out map, "A Brief Tour of Old Worthington Village" attached to the inside back cover.

Jim Baker (b. 1924, d. 1995) lived in Worthington and was an accomplished artist. He worked as a cartoonist at the Columbus Dispatch for 20 years, leaving in 1966 to begin his own business with his wife Mary Lou Baker. Several of Baker's oil paintings depicting scenes around Worthington are located at the Old Worthington Library's Worthington Room, 820 High St. and the Worthington Inn, 649 High St., Worthington, Ohio.
