The annual Greater Worthington Flower and Vegetable Show for the year 1970 was held at the Worthington High School gymnasium. The "Flowers in Folklore" theme was interpreted in 25 classes of arrangements. In addition there were 115 classes of specimen flowers and vegetables. All classes were open to any amateur exhibitor. The annual flower show was open to the public and free of charge. Members of sponsoring gardening clubs, including the Worthington Garden Club, assisted in organizing and staffing the event which was hosted by the Village Green Thumb Garden Club that year. Since its founding in 1929, the Worthington Garden Club has presented over 500 programs about flowers, trees, landscaping, plants, animals, and birds.
