Professor Emeritus of The Ohio State University, where he was member of the President's Club. Graduate of the College of Agriculture, BS 1927 and MS 1937. Director-Ohio Cooperative Extension Service. Teacher of Vocational Agriculture, New Madison, Ohio County Agent, Agriculture Extension Service, Madison County. Served at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, India on OSU-USAID Educational Project, 1963-1968. Member Worthington United Methodist Church, Public Employee Retirees Service, P.E.R.I. Past Master, Ft. Black Lodge N. 413 F & AM, New Madison, Oh., Horace W. Wright Chapter No. 226 R. & AM, Zabud Council N. 99 R & SM. Past Worthington Patron O.E.S. Chapter No. 226, Dayton Consistory A.A.S.R., Aladdin Temple Shrine Past Master Unit, Worthington Shrine Club. Preceded in death by son Dr. Philip Kent Wood. Survived by wife Alice E. Wood; daughters Elizabeth Ann (William K.) Knarr, Cropolie, Ala., Mary (Ronald) Littleton, Phoenix, Ariz.; son Dr. Frederick (Gail) Wood, Chardon, OH.; daughter-in-law Jo Ann Wood, Galena, Oh.; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister Juanita Lohnes, Dayton, Oh. Funeral service 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 7, Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Chapel, 515 High Street, Worthington, where family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Friday. Rev. Robert Chiles officiating. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute to the Shrine Crippled Children's Fund, The Ohio State University Development Fund - 4-H Foundation or Friendship Village of Columbus Memorial Fund.
