Richard (Dick) Wolf, age 88, of Worthington, Ohio, passed away January 23, 2024. He was born on November 11, 1935, in Columbus, Ohio. Preceded in death by parents Henry Lawrence Sr. and Mary Evelyn (Terrell) Wolf of Columbus and brother, Henry Lawrence Wolf Jr. of San Jose, California. He is survived by the love of his life, wife of 67 years, Joyce E. Wolf (Blunt), daughters Cynthia Wolf of Worthington, Carolyn (Jeffrey) Ashmore of Galena, and son Douglas Wolf of San Jose, California, granddaughter Hannah Ashmore, sister Barbara Wolf of Columbia, Missouri, and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends. He cherished his time with his family and friends and adored his granddaughter.
He attended every golf match and sporting event she participated in and was grandparent of the year. He graduated from Worthington High School and attended The Ohio State University where he became a “BUCKEYE” for life. He was a lifelong member of Fourth Avenue Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) serving as an elder and deacon as well as serving on the board. Above all was the love of Jesus Christ our Lord and his guidance and inspiration. He was also a board member and volunteer for the Near Northside Emergency Material Assistance Program (NNEMAP) food pantry and a volunteer at Alvis House. Dads’ passion was working with people believing that everyone has a purpose in life. He was able, through his volunteer work with NNEMAP, to use his talents to help guide those who needed the right voice to lead them to success. He developed and ran a street program called “Bridge of Love” working with 3700 people one-on-one. He captured these life events and successes by authoring a book “Bridge of Love” sharing these wonderful stories. He never met a stranger and was a loving, dedicated servant with drive and determination to take on the most challenging problems. He will be greatly missed by all, but his legacy will live on.
The family invites friends to A Celebration of Life service held Sunday, February 4 at 12noon followed by visitation until 2:30pm at Fourth Avenue Christian Church, 296 W. 4th Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43201. A burial service will be held Monday, February 5, 2024, at 11am at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Worthington, Ohio.
