Polly Ann Tewart, age 87, of Worthington, Ohio, born December 20, 1928 in New Madison, Ohio and died December 18, 2016 at 11:35 a.m., at The Forum at Knightsbridge in Columbus. Preceded in death by parents Jerald H. and Helen E. Merrill Roberts of New Madison, Ohio, and later of Worthington. A graduate of The Ohio State University, she taught Home Economics and Quest at Worthington High School (1970-1989) and received national recognition for her contributions to the Quest Skills for Living Program. She was a member of the Worthington Presbyterian Church, and served as a Deacon and a Stephen Minister. A study of genealogy led her to be a member of the Daughters of the Revolution (DAR) and the Worthington Historical Society. The Worthington Woman's Club provided many activities and friendships. Family activities, volunteering, golf, bowling, gardening and bridge filled her retirement years. She envisioned her life in 20 year segments: becoming educated - raising a family - teaching school -retirement - a very full life. She is survived by her loving husband of 66, Braxton Eggleton Tewart; two daughters and two sons, Lydia Pierce, Bradley (Kathy) Tewart, Jeffrey (Julie) Tewart and Sara (Andrew) Dale; grandchildren, Lauren (Ron) Dumosche, Nathan (Katie) Tewart, Gordon Tewart, Jonathan (Wendy) Tewart, Jason (Julia) Tewart and Jennifer (Mitch) Schulze; great-grandchildren, Autumn and Norah Tewart, Braxton Tewart, Noah Schulze and Persphone Tewart; cousin, Luanna (Les) Loftquist. She is preceded in death by her son-in-law Don Pierce. Her Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2016 at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High Street in Worthington, where her family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to the time of service. Pastor Betsy Rice, officiating. A private family interment will take place at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
