she died Thursday, April 25, 2013. her recorded age was 80.
Born December 15, 1932, Sally has died. She was baptized Sally Lou Orr by her dear parents, Florence Marie Hoskey and William Ingham Orr, who thought their Depression-era baby was a good luck charm. She was saddened to have been pre-deceased by her beautiful sister Patricia Orr Teachnor. Sally is survived by her husband of 30 years, Franz T. Stone and his numerous children and grandchildren. A world traveler many times over, the "Traveling Lady" succumbed, finally, to complications from an accident the couple suffered during their last trip to Bangkok, Thailand. Sally is also survived by her former husband, Francis R. Huntington, and their two beloved daughters, Leslie Huntington and Molly Huntington Shook, from Lima, Ohio. She delighted in her two grandsons, John Huntington Woodrow and David Francis Woodrow. "Honey" celebrated last with them at the joyous occasion of John's wedding to Carly Compton. Always putting family first, Sally loved her their nieces, Jennifer Teachnor Gaffey, Cynthia Teachnor Graham, and Mariann Teachnor Dargusch and their families. Sally pursued learning, valued heritage, history, and reveled in the arts. Creative with a paintbrush and her sewing machine, she made finely hand-smocked dresses for her little girls, and went on to design sophisticated living spaces for clients of the ASID firm, Allan Wingfield Interiors. She was a gracious hostess in her own home, which was an elegant as she was. Sally was honored to serve as a docent for the Columbus Museum of Art, the Owens-Thomas Museum House, Savannah, GA and as Chairman of the Trooping Theater, Junior League of Columbus. Always ready for fun and adventure with schoolgirl enthusiasm, "Sal Gal" loved her classmates at the Columbus School for Girls who became lifelong friends. In addition to her sister, Sally's daughter and nieces were all educated well at C.S. G. A gift to the school would be meaningful tribute to her. "Honey" will be sadly missed and mourned by her family, for whom she went to exceptional lengths. They invite you to join them in remembrance of her strength and grace on Saturday afternoon, June 15, 2013 from 2:30-5:30 p.m. at the Columbus School for Girls, Columbus, Ohio. Interment at Walnut Grove Cemetery at a later date.
