Julia Margaret Pintye Stein, age 94, of 1333 Firwood Drive, Columbus, Ohio, died at the Laurels Nursing Home, Worthington, Ohio 43085 at 10:00 a.m. on September 14, 2006. Julia was preceded in death by her father Sandor "Alex" Pintye, her mother Margit "Margaret", sister Irene Pintye Cannon and her husband George G. Stein II, MD. Julia is survived by her daughters, Mildred Stein Kirn, Judith Stein Shafer; son, George G. Stein III; her grandchildren, Sally A. Shafter Harr, Jonathan F. Shafer and Matthew M.G. Shafer, Walter Kirn, Andrew Kirn, Lisa Stein, Eric Stein and Erika Stein; her great-grandchildren, Adam and Emil Harr, (Jonathan's) Kyle and Kelsey Shafer and (Walter's) Charles and Margaret Kirn, Julia, born December 27, 1911 in Cleveland, Ohio, graduated from the Bainbridge, Ohio Township School eighth grade in 1925, graduated from John Hay High School, Cleveland, Ohio 1929. Graduated Registered Nurse St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing, 1933, married Dr. George G. Stein II September 13, 1933, (Jamestown, NY) resided in Cuyahoga, Ohio 7 years and assisted husband George Stein, MD in general family practice, then moved with family to Northampton Township (Cuyahoga Falls area) 1948. She moved to Worthington, Ohio 1964 when husband practiced at Ohio State University. She moved to Columbus, Ohio 1974 at her husband's retirement to his death 1993 and on to her end life 2006. She was the very benevolent "Queen of Hungary". She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. The infant Julia was baptized in the Greek Orthodox Catholic Church. Family funeral services were held, by prior notice, at 5:00 p.m. September 15, 2006 at Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home, Worthington Chapel, 515 High Street, Worthington, Ohio. Your prayers and goodwill in Julia's memory have been and will be greatly appreciated.
