Dr. Morse Edward Smith, D.O., 93, of Worthington, Friday, September 19, 1997 at the Convalarium at Indian Run. Born August 23, 1904 in Rissia, he came to this country when he was 2 years old. Led a full and very interisting life; grew up in the German Village area of Columbus; spent 2 years with the United Fruit Co. as a bacteriologist in Honduras prior to college; attended Ohio State University and Kansas City College of Osteopathy gradusted 1947. After a short practice in Kansas City, he returned to Columbus and set up practice in the North Linden area, later moving to Worthington. He was a 32nd degree Mason, life member of the National Rifle Assoc., U.S. Power Squadron where he learned and enjoyed boatingon Lake Erie. Held Amateur Radio License, a member of MENSA along with Jennie, loved trout fishing and we spent many enjoyable days at the Rockwell Springs Trout Club near Castalia, Oh. Preceded in death by beloved wife Jennie Barker Smith. Survived by sons, Russell T. (M. Jo) Smith, Hilliard and C.B. Smith, Grapevine, Tex.; 4 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; brother, Dan of Houston; sister Sonia of Miami; sister-in-law Dr. Margaret Barker Booth, D.O. of Worthington many nieces and nephews as will as many close and devoted friends. Funeral service 10 a.m. Monday, September 22, 1997 at Rutherford-Corbin Chapel 515 High St., Worthington, where friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Interment Walnut Grove Cemetery.
