George R. Silcott, 68, of Worthington, died Wednesday, March 9, 1994 at Riverside Hospital. Founder and owner George R. Silcott Railway Equipment. Lifetime resident of Worthington. WW II veteran U.S. Army receiving the Bronze Star. Preceded in death by parents Gordon R. and Virginia Reed Silcott. Survived by wife, Geraldine Silcott; children, Sue (Richard) Bryant, Ft. Myers, Fla., Cheryl Silcott, Columbus, George R. (Mary K.) Silcott Jr., Pittsburgh, Pa., Melinda Silcott, Worthington; grandchildren, Adam, Lisa and Stephanie Bryant, Daniel Silcott, George R. Silcott III. Member of Worthington Presbyterian Church, Leisure-Blackston Post #239 American Legion, Loyal Order of Moose, Delaware Lodge #1167. One of the founders od the Ohio Railway Museum. Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 1994 at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN CHAPEL, 515 High St., Worthington, where friends may call one hour prior to time of service on Saturday. Dr. Philip M. Hazelton officiating. Interment Walnut Grove Cemetery with Military honors given by American Legion Post #239. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
