Loretta Sale, 84, of Countryside Continuing Care Center, died Monday at the center. She was born in Fremont to Ernest and Bertha (Hoffman) Hench. She married Kenneth A. Sale on May 31, 1937 in Fremont. He died in 1991. Mrs. Sale graduated from Bowling Green State University with a bachelor's degree in education. She taught elementary school in Clyde. She was a charter member of Fremont's Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Home Garden Club. She was very active with Elder College at Terra Community College. At one time, Mrs. Sale directed plays locally and professionally. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its Marian Society. She also served on The News-Messenger's editorial board. Surviving are daughter Cornelia Zienta of Fremont; sons, James Sale of Washington D.C., Kenneth E. Sale of Bethesda, MD, J. Russell Sale of Baltimore, MD, and Andrew Sale of Simi Valley, CA; and 12 grandchildren. Visitation: None. Her body was donated to the Medical College of Ohio. Memorial Services: 10 a.m. Monday, St. Joseph Parish Hall with lunch following. Memorials: To the church of donor's choice. Addition: Preceded in death by son, Richard F. Sale.
