PFEFFERLE Lewis William "Bud" Pfefferle Sr., age 82, of Worthington, Oh., left this world Friday, March 20, 2009 to go to his Heavenly home. Resident of Worthington Christian Village, Columbus, Oh. Born January 1927 to Royer and Esther Pfefferle, both deceased. Leaves wife, Dorothy May. They were married 61 years. daughters, Martha May (David) Town of Pittsford, Mich., Joy Ellen (Michael) Burns of Raleigh, N.C.; son, Lewis William "Bill" (Susie) Pfefferle Jr. of Westerville, Oh.; granddaughters, Carrie Town, Michaela Burns, Christa Burns; grandsons, Gregory (Becky) Town, Kevin (Rachel) Pfefferle, David Pfefferle, Cameron Burns; great grandchildren, William Town, Leah Pfefferle and Karissa Town; sisters, Eleanor Bierly, Dorothy Embleton, Betty Ninde and Edith Darrough. Graduate of Worthington High School. Attended The Ohio State University. Served in the U.S. Navy in both WWII and the Korean War. Learned the contracting trade from his father, managed Elephant Lumber stores and went into independent contracting in 1953. Retired in 1992. Bud was a former member of Leasure-Blackston #239 American Legion and a 40 year member of Worthington Grace Brethern Church where he served as a trustee, elder, deacon and held various other positions.
