Lloyd Elzo "Bud" Manley, 82, resident of Delaware County, died Saturday, October 9, 1999 at Riverside Hospital. Born February 19, 1917 in Cincinnati, OH. Graduate of Walnut Hills High School in Cincinnati, 1935 and of The Ohio State University, 1939, with a BFA in Design. Studied architecture at Kent State University and the University of Cincinnati. Licensed as an architect in Ohio, he worked as an architectural designer for Dan A. Carmichael, the Columbus Board of Education, and the State of Ohio. He also was in private practice with Sam Ingerson. Served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the South Pacific, 1943-1946 and in Korea, 1950-1952, where he was a Captain, Air Controller. Past Grand Master of the Masons. Member of the Men's Garden Club of Central Ohio and also of the Canal Society of Ohio and other canal societies. In recent years, he published articles and drawings in various canal society journals. Preceded in death by parents Elzo Roy Manley and Elsie Hoier Manley of Cincinnati. Survived by wife, Mary Helman Manley; son, Michael Lloyd (Judith) Manley of Columbus; grandson, William Michael (Joyce) Manley, currently in Hong Kong; sister, Myra Manley Bremer of Charlotte, N.C.; and other relatives and friends.
